Fishing Report November 2025
November 5, 2025
We enjoyed a lovely display of the Northern Lights over Woman Lake this evening on a crisp, clear November evening. They were not quite as dynamic as they could have been, due to the bright full moon, but they were beautiful anyway. I will post a few photos taken from my shoreline.
I have not been out on the water fishing this month, and I have not seen anyone else fishing either, but I assure you the walleyes are still biting well, if you can tolerate the cold. I also have not heard or seen any young-of-the-year loons over the last few days. I suspect they finally figured out mom and dad are not returning and they boldly grabbed a north wind to head south in search of whatever they my find. Their instincts will somehow navigate them to the coastal waters of the southeast, particularly the gulf coast area. I am no longer seeing many migrating birds at my bird feeders as most have already made their way south by now. There are quite a few swans still in the area, some of which will stay all winter. It has been a remarkably warm and pleasant fall season, and the ground remains unfrozen. We have only had a few nights of freezing cold so far, but we will likely see the first signs of lake ice in a few weeks. Firearm deer hunting season opens on Saturday.
