Fishing Report October 2021

Fishing Guide Service Notice:   Today is the last day of my fishing guide service for 2021, and I would like to thank all the people who fished with me this season.  We caught an abundant number of walleyes most days, as well as plenty of big smallmouth bass and northen pike.  Woman Lake was very good to us again this year and the fish populations appear to be as healty and robust as ever.  I will be hunting for the next couple months, but you will likley find me on the water again just after first ice in December.  Hope to see you all next spring and summer 2022 when we all get to do this again.  Good luck, and good fishing. ObeWan.

The traditional Fall walleye bite on Woman Lake has finally gotten into full swing.  Air temperatures have cooled allowing water temps to get down into the 50s, and the walleye bite has heated up.  The public boat access parking is so full of boats / trailers that they are lined up parking along Cty Rd 5.  Big minnows are the best bait right now (particularly redtail chubs) or some minnow immitation bait.  You can still catch them on leeches and crawlers during the day, but you will catch more and bigger walleyes on minnows.  In the evenings, longline troll Rapalas over the 7-9 foot sand flats just after sunset until midnight.
