Fishing Report October 2025

October 10, 2025  -  Final fishing trip for 2025 open water season

The Woman Lake walleye bite is still going full tilt, and I suspect it will continue until our beautiful fall weather comes to a halt.  We caught nine walleyes today with four fish over 20" and the largest 24".  The balance of our walleye catch measured in the 17-19" range, and we also boated a nice northern pike.  We fought some stiff northwest winds under bluebird skies, but managed to keep the boat on top of the fish.  Redtail minnows were the bait of choice and we found our fish on main basin sandy shoreline breaks in 16-20 feet of water.  I will post a few photos on the "Catch Photos" section of this website.  The young loons still on the lake have been fishing in small packs, roving around together taking advantage of the abundant forage still available.  Some of them will still be around a month from now, but not much longer before they decide to head south.

ObeWan Guide Service Fishing Note:  Today was my final fishing trip for the 2025 season.  Once again it was a season of very good walleye fishing, on a truly great Minnesota lake, and I feel blessed with the opportunity to observe the beauty of this lake, and it's wildlife, on a daily basis.  Thanks again to everyone who fished with me this year and I hope you all get the chance to fish Woman Lake in 2026.  Now I am off to hunt for a few months, then on to ice fishing for a few more months, and before you know it, the slab crappies will be gathering in the warming black bottom bays of Woman Lake next April.  See you next year and good luck fishing to all.

October 2, 2025

The phenomenal fall weather continues on Woman Lake and so does the hot walleye bite.  I suspect this walleye bite willl remain solid as long as the fishable weather hangs on.  We enjoyed a beautiful display of the northern lights last night, and I took a few photos from my dock on Bungey Bay.  I will post some photos on the "Catch Photos" section of this website.  This wonderful weather won't last forever, so go fishing and take advantage it.
